I almost forgot to post this! I rolled 245K miles last weekend.

What does all this mean? Well, I began having tranny issues after 148k. The tranny went out at 155k. It took two different shops and 3 total rebuilds before the last shop got it right (hince my sig!). With the driving between rebuilds and such, my tranny was back in working order at around 157k. So I almost have 100k on the Mystique since my first problem.

Now... bear in mind, that I did not install a tranny cooler. I have just changed the fluid like a mad man. I try to do a four quart change every other oil change. It doesn't always work out to where I can, but I try.

As for the health of the tranny, right now? Only issue I have is I found that the VB Cover is starting to leak at the base of the cover. So I need to replace that. Other than that, it still shifts like new.

Since I start a new job on Monday, I don't have long before I can retire the Mystique. I will have to drive 180 miles, round trip, each day for a few months - but after that, once I am in the feild alone, they will be giving me an`03 Ranger to work out of. No more 200 mile days, unless we are headed for a meet somewhere.

Just thought I would share.

Only 30k more till you best CEG's highest mileage vehicle (parkedcar's 95 SE, 275k) ... at least wait to trading it off till after then

btw - put your mileage in your sig - definitely something to be proud of!

No way I am getting rid of this thing! I will drive it til the wheels fall off. At that time; I will pull over, put the wheels back on and drive off.

Ah - I misread. I saw "it won't be too long till i retire the Mystique" as being getting rid of it.

You inspire hope to us all that you can keep these things going...hell maybe Ford will cut you the same deal as that one fella with the pick up truck....drive it to 300K+ and they may give you a brand new car for being so loyal.

I didn't know they did that!! I'd have kept my big Merc & put 1/2 million miles on it by now! DAMMIT!

Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

I just hit 52,700 yesterday in a 98 CSVT.

Not too shabby. I plan on having this car for a long time. Everytime someone who hasn't been in my car gets in...they can't believe ford made a car as 'old' as mine with leather and stick!

Show's you the kind of non-motor heads i hang out with. But they sure can drink!
