I did that to get my trans out. Looking back...I'd rather pull it.

I did mine that way too. Short block with clutch/flywheel still attached, plus squeaking it out past the trans flange was quite a task. I stood on the front and rear portions of the subframe, then handed the short block out to a friend standing next to the car. Can I get a Hans aund Frans "We're here to pump <clap> You UP!" ?!?!?!?!?!

Thats aweseome! haha I learned to work on my car in my appartment parking lot as well. All I had was a simple multi tool kit from Canadian Tire and the spare tire sissor jack. It makes you really appricate a nice garage with a bunch of tools.

When i replaced my engine, i went through the top with the tranny inplace. Possible, yes. Although next time i'll pull them together. It was the most difficult engine job i've done.

HAHA!!! reminds me of the time that we where doing a full suspension swap (Konis & Eibachs) on a friends car in his appartment parking lot. The car was up on 4 jack stands and we had a person on each corner pulling the stock struts when the apartment leasing office manager decided to come out and "have a talk" with us. She stictly said "You need to stop what you are doing and park the car". I promptly replied "we can't move the car until we FINISH what we are doing"

It was HILARIOUS!

Guess you had to be there
