I must have been 5.

That sounds familiar. I used to drive my grand-uncle's Dune Buggy on the back roads of a little town called Errol, NH (Up near Dixville Notch).

However, I practiced driving on the roads in my 86 Dodge Caravan. That was also my first car. Parallel Parking was a breeze because you knew exactly where the rear bumper was. The window goes right to the bumper.

Shortly after, I purchased my first car, a 1981 Chevy Malibu. It was bare, but ran great. 229 3.8L V6

Man, I wish I had that car to work on now. There was so much room under the hood! It was RWD, Automatic, no A/C, and no pass. side mirror. Power Steering that stalled the car if you turned it all the way. It turned like soft butter. Absolutely zero road feel! It did burn oil like a SOB, but that was part of the fun.

On my way home from college my Freshman year, the car caught on fire. I managed to put it out, and keep it running for another year or so. Good Times.

my dads 92 sable 3.8. I had so much fun smoking the tires in that car. Car actually died of a rod knock - go figure. Well, it didn't die, but he got rid of it before it did. Probably had it for almost 2 years with the knock though.

learned stick in a 91 subaru loyale wagon. looked like crap, but it was an awesome car. I beat the piss out of it, and it is still running.

1964 Ford F100. 292 V8 and a granny 4 speed.

Easy to learn stick, all I had to do was let off the clutch, and the truck had enoug torque to start rolling without touching the gas pedal and not stall. Manual drum brakes all around, and no power steering. Lots of memories there.

Started full time driving in an 1982 Chevy El Camino, blew the motor and had it replaced with a small block 400, ballsey compared to the stock 305 without a doubt, and without any weight to it...
Learned to drive stick in something similiar to this...

Then got more prctice with my brothers Yugo. $7.00 to fill up the tank and it lasted me 2 whole weeks...God life was good back then.

95 Mercury Sable, auto 3.0l. The thing's a boat, and currently a sinking one.

The Contour's the third car I've ever had the priveledge to drive. My second was my father's, when he became sick I drove his 91 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sciera (place model name here). Red, square tail lights and an almost vertical rectangular rear window.

Anyways, the thing was about to blow up and I sold it for $800. The only thing that went wrong with it after the sell was leaky windows; in which I actually felt bad because they hadnt leaked when I drove it! Oh well

Prolly part of the city's dumpsters by now
