I made a followup call today and let Max know that we are serious and have roughly 60+ people ready to drop $150 on this. He told me that he would need to outsource this, but has a list of manufacturers that he deals with that he will be asking. I should hear back from him by week's end. If not, I will be calling him on Monday as he requested. So, please don't call and ask. Max is aware of this thread and of our dire interest in a stronger/lighter rear sway bar.

Max is a good guy. Definately is aware of the fervent interest in these suspension parts as I had discussed at least one other non-GB issue with him last week.

I am totally for a single contact with these vendors, so please don't pester them. Better we get all answers through fastcougar.

fastcougar, are you still pretty optimistic about this. No offence but I'm just starting to have some concerns and doubts.

Breaking News!

Talked with Max from ATI and he has 2 vendors that are interested in doing this for ATI. Max is currently working on a design based on the dimensions of a 21mm BAT bar, which is a stock replacement bar. Once he has the schematics finished, he will talking to the manufacturers early next week about pricing per unit to them and he will be letting us know if they can get them made within our price range. He will be posting this information directly, not me. It's looking promising that these will be made. Timeline is purely up to the manufacturer's response.

Why? Because you can't get your instant gratification of holding it in your hands tomorrow? These things take time people ... be patient ... a hollow 24mm sway bar will be coming.

If Max gets the price we are looking for, this group buy will work out as smoothly as the rear sub-frame group buy. It will be held in the same fashion, where we would go through ATI's website to make a deposit. Then when the bar ships, you would have to pay the remainder.

Like I said, no offence. Don't think you should really blame me for being concerned though. Was just asking how confident you still were on this. If you're sure thats good enough for me. Thanks for everything you've done so far.

Fastcougar - though I too wish the GB picks up the speed, I really have to thank you for the efforts and time u r putting in.

Just a side note. How is 21 being stock? Stock is 16mm and SE/SVT is 18mm.

"Stock replacement" is what he said. Meaning the bar will bolt up to the stock subframe with stock clamps & the bushings provided by BAT. The 24mm bar requires special clamps & other mods AFAIK... Please correct me if I'm wrong.
