Alright I need a definite answer to this question.....

I have a 2000 Cougar V6 and I want to buy this 2000 Focus Transmission for the 4.10 final....to install the Torsen etc etc.

Now I know the bellhousings are different, but can I take the bellhousing off of the tranny from the Duratec and bolt it up to the zetec transmission body with the duratec input shaft? Will this work?

Please let me know, I'd really appreciate the help.

You could get the Zetec final drive (you will need both gears...) and put a torsen in your tranny...

1. Well for starters you have incorrect information.

V6 MTX = 4.06
I4 MTX = 3.84

2. Technically yes the halves will match, but it's not as simple a just swapping the input shaft.
For starters you will need to swap out the front seal, races & a bushing as well. I don't recall if the races require shimming but likely they will as everything has a specific clearance spec.

The MTX guru is Terry. You should try him at Fordcontour.org

Alright so the Duratec has the better Final Drive.....right?

Forgive me for my ignorance with the MTX75

Then I'll look for a spare MTX75 from a Duratec and send the innards from that off to be cryo'd and I'll install the Torsen and hopefully be done with the tranmission for a little while.

and if the 4.10 isnt enough, you can by a 4.50 final drive from Leo Capaldi.

I went the other way.Swapped to the Zetec Final Drive when I put in the Quaiffe and added boost. Less wheel-spin and I can hit 60 in second gear.
