No, but If my tax refund is anything like last years I'll have enough to put in a 3.0L with extras and still have enough change to get a nice beater.

They are when you have two kids, claim Married 1 throughout the year and then claim Married 3-4 at the end of the year. I was close to getting 8k back last year.

You should really work on getting less money taken out during the year. It will increase cash flow and allow you to make your money work for you rather than the IRS.

True, but I like receive a lump sum at the end of the year. It would add roughly $3.65 more an hour maybe more or less depending. I just don't want to owe anything at the end of the year. Plus this kind of works like a savings plan.

In that case but it in a low risk mutual fund. Why not earn some interest on it. Withdraw it at tax time. You don't gain interest when the government is sitting on it.

Never thought about that, I'll see what my bank can do for me later today since I have to go there anyway. Should I just put that extra $120 in there every week, or a lump sum?
(sorry to thread jack)

Every week if you can. And the bank will give you nothing for interest in a regular saving account. 0.3% when I last checked. You'll be better of in a mutual fund, but remember, you'll probably pay tax on the interest earned. Bastids!

What about an IRA? what are the positive, negatives of using an IRA? Is the ROI better worse?

This is whats great about the CEG and its posts. Someone can come on here talking about the great deal they got, then another adds something about adding $3K worth of add-ons, then another cries about not having any money and then someone steps up on how to make money! This is why the CEG is #1
