Here is a topic worth posting on.
I come to these boards more for information than conversation. I just don�t have time to have extended conversations with people I don�t know over the net. I have only met one other CEGer and that is Kokopellian when we did some bartering. Great guy by the way.
Anyway since we all crave information I thought it would be a good topic for us.
Here is the topic. Please list any dealers, shops, or junkyards in your area that you have had a pleasant experience with. If you know of machinist, painter, engine builder, or any other car guru that has helped with your contique please feel free to list them here as well. If you are posting a shop let us know what they did for you.
For this topic don�t list places you had bad experiences at. We can save that for another post so we can avoid getting disbanded.

For sales, Rich Furlow is top notch.
Great dealership. I have never received bad service.
On the subject of Kokopellian, he is a good egg and well worth meeting.

Thanks for the props Jon and Kelly.  I think I've found a great resource for us SCCEGer's. I went on the SVTTexas forums and a guy there is going to help me install my springs and struts. I'll hook up with him soon, so I'll let you guys know how it goes. It sounds promising. Here's the PM he sent to me.... Quote:

One of the reasons we are starting the new company because there is a real shortage of shops in the area that have the expertise and focus on the underbody and handling. There are plenty of shops that will soup up your engine, or merely sell you a lowering kit - but tell me any who actually know about handling? It is even worse for something like your Contour as most of the performance shops are muscle car focused and haven't a clue about front drive like the Focus or Contour - unless you goto an import specialist?
So be wary of recommendations to take it to somewhere like Lone Star Performance - they might be good at getting 500HP from a Mustang engine, but Contour suspension? no way!
I don't have any recommendations for you unfortunately, but if you cannot find a suitable shop, send me a note and we will work something out.

I though he only gave me good deals thats a good price. I first went to him after my dad recomended him to me since the best price for a cluch install i found was $650 and he did mine for $500 and I've been going to him ever since for
Clutch, Transmission, Springs, Struts, Underdrive Pulley, any a bunch of small stuff from cleaning manifolds to changing brakes when I don't have time to change them. He's also Rebuilt my brother Mustang GT engine and done alot For SVTLay as well.

For a dealer, McRee Ford in Dickinson, TX. Their service department is very good, when they tell you your car is fixed, it is fixed right, and free loaner cars for repairs. Our sales guy, Dave Kuenneke, has been with Ford in various ways since the sixties, not always at the dealer level and is a top notch, no BS kind of guy.
If I were to take a car to any other place than that dealer for repairs it would be Benson's Automotive in Webster, TX. They work on everything but transmissions and are the closest Tire Rack installer (about 10 minutes away). The last time I was there for new tire installation there was a lady in the waiting room that has been in the car business for years and comes from the other side of Houston, an hour drive, for car work because she said they are the best.

This company is in Weatherford Texas wich is just west of Fort Worth. Here is an e-mail that I received from them on the availibility of performance or oem SVT or contour related parts.
Jon, I can supply only factory OEM Ford or SVT parts that are still

I don't know if you guys can get better pricing, but:
Wheel studs (lug nuts) are around 3.99 a PIECE at Autozone.
I have family that works at a lug-nut manufacturer, and I can get OEM style, chrome, acorn ended lug nuts for 0.60. Let me know, and I would be HAPPY to grab as many as you want, and ship them, or meet you, or whatever.
