Unfortunately those are the uneducated opinions of the average American and a major reason for the ever growing rift between our two nations. Canada is adopting more and more of a European mentality and it really bothers the Americans that we don't roll over and accept their way of life. No thanks I don't want to be shot .

It's disgraceful what passes for journalism today - especially south of the border - sad thing is that the vast majority of Americans get their "opinions" fed to them by media outlets and personalities with their own agenda - which then backs their opinions with skewed and selective "reporting."

Just look at the difference in the way the BBC or the CBC reports events compared to say Fox or even some of the more "moderate" U.S. networks.

Feed a steady diet of "op ed" gussied up to look like journalism to the average guy or gal on the street and it's no wonder they seem out of touch with reality.

I take anything coming from a country where only 12 percent of people believe in Evolution with a grain of salt.

Tucker Carlson....well, he had nothing to say so he went for a cheap laugh. I actually like him because, when he is not "on" he can make a lot of sense, even though I disagree with his politics.

Ann Coulter, however, is a complete right wing nut job of the highest order. Part of it is that she goes for the big splash, but she actually believes what she is shovelling. I don't know where she gets this vitriol for those who believe that maybe, just maybe, the American left wing has some valid points, but she has it. I think that she needs to wake up and smell the coffee instead of her own colon.

Just sent this to Ann Coulter via a conservative book site:

"I just saw, thanks to the Internet, which we Canadians are clearly lucky to have, your views which you were spouting on Fox News about Canada.

Yes, we are so lucky to live with you. After all, you are so big and powerful that your country can't handle a scrabbling band of insurgents in that "backwards" country of Iraq. Mission accomplished, indeedy-do.

And your soooo mighty country had such an easy time of Vietnam as well. Yes, you ended that evil socialist regime, didn't you. Yes, you're so big and strong, of course you did.

Actually, now that I think of it, back in 1812, didn't we hand you your collective G.W.s? Naw, couldn't have happened. You are so high and mighty, and we are so weak.

I am being facetious to make a point here. For someone that, if I recall correctly, went to Harvard, I would think that you would have a more educated world view. But it would seem that you don't have an educated world view, just one that makes you a lot of money writing right wing books, and gets you on Fox News (which is as fair and balanced as Al Jazeera, but I digress).

The problem is, as an outsider from waek lil' ol' Canada, I have noticed a few key points about conservative governments:
- they always are bigger than the government before them, despite being led by those in favour of "smaller" government;
- they often run massive deficits (happens here too);
- they often enter ill-advised conflicts; and
- it often takes seeming aeons to repair your relationships with other nations.

It's time you woke up and smelled the coffee, Miss Coulter. There might just be a better way for you to express your opinions. You are proud to be an American -- that's fine. But I am proud to be a Canadian, and you have insulted the vast majority of proud sovereign nation with your generalizations. Carolyn Parrish may have done the same thing, but two wrongs don't make a right.

I invite you to visit Canada sometime. Perhaps then you will see what living in peace, with little fear, a strong economy and no one threatening your nation is like."

Hmmm. So, we're lucky that they don't just take over eh? So she figures that taking over another country would be right and proper, eh? Okay. Maybe Adolf and Saddam have some advice on how to do it 'properly', eh?

BTW, I don't American bash, per se. If an American is an a-hole, I'll say so. Truth is, some of the worst and best people on the planet that I have met are American. Just a shame that the good ones aren't given air time...

I would've put in a humble question as well, following the invitation, asking her if she thinks we didn't have the CN tower and the sky dome knocked out because of the nuke shield.
