I got to thinking the other day. Since people with the non HO Duratec 2.5L can take parts from an SVT or a 3L Duratec and put them on their 2.5L maybe there is something in comparison to the Zetec that can do the same kind of thing. then the SVT High output Zetec came to my mine. Would any of the parts from the SVT zetec be interchangeable? EG the throttle body? MAF? valve cover, anything that may give performance gains...

FSVT valve cover would proly fit your ride but not mine (b/c of the VCT that I got and u don't) - and it's a pity since the valve cover gives ya a helluva lot of performance gains, about 45-50 HP.

45-50hp? What are the vavle covers supercharged? Im just looking for dress as well as a little performance.

How hard would it be to put the SVT Zetec engine in our cars??? would be cool if you could find a wrecked one.

It would be cool, but alas not worth it since it would probibly cost the same if not more to get a 3.0L and drop it in. but definately a worthy cause to be the only contour owner with an SVT zetec, make ya feel kinda unique

The SVT Zetec is not a simple drop-in. It mates to a 6 speed trans and not the MTX-75. It uses a different ECU. The mount points, engine mounts, trans mounts, brackets, and frame rails are all different.
Like any other Focus part, you could make some parts work, but it would take some work. Getting a larger TB (whether aftermarket or from an SVT) isn't necessary unless you're doing FI, simply have the stock one optimized.
The head and intake manifold are the two points of interest.
If a complete SVT Zetec head can be found for real cheap (less than $500) it may be worth it, otherwise better cams and a PnP of the stock head is just as good.
The intake manifold is a dual runner design, like the 2.5L Contour. Which gives good both low and high end power. Something lacking in the design of any intake manifold currently available for the Zetec. But it's not even close to a direct fit and a way would need to be found to control it and have the ECU correct for the swap over between runners. It would take alot of time/money.

The header would be another good part.....it is a regular "aftermarket" part for the Focus now.
