took the 18s off the car this weekend and back with the stock 15s. We are up to our knees in the white stuff "more than 40cms already", and the forecast says more is coming.

I take the bus when it snows...and the way Vancouver/Richmond drivers react with the weather, more people should join me.

the plan was to park my car for the winter, pull the insurance off, and leave fire and theft. I drive my work truck during the winters "all expense paid for and its a 4x4". BUT now i have to give my car to my sister because my parents need another car for their business, and she is giving her car to them. No bus in small town Slave Lake so she gets my car to get to college. oh well that screws my plan of some R&R and modding over the winter.

I'm with you on that one Prof Driver vs "4x4" . Ratio of 4x4's in the ditch must be 70% as opposed to cars here

" I have 4 wheel drive, I don't have to pay attention" from a driver with their MPV nose into a ditch on the Sea to Sky. I've seen more 4 wheelers in the ditch on this road than 2 wheel drives. 'Remember , when snow falls in Van - abandon all common sense!' Also Vancouver is 90 miles beyond Hope.......

YUP, they think owning a 4x4 means you have better brakes then everyone else and can go just as fast as you did before, in the snow! The ditch is the only brake they understand!

4x4's, better breaks... mean nothing if you don't have the right tires for the condidions. I don't even use the 4x4 when i'm on the highway, no need for it unless i'm in deep snow. I'm still going the same speed as before but pay more attention. But then again i'm not the average driver i put over 100,000kms a year in driving and half of that is in the winter. i guess a lot of people dont know how to drive in icy conditions, but I'll admit i do slow down when need too "i'm not worried about my driving its others on the road". With all that said now i better get 2 new winter tires on my 15"s, the front ones pretty much had it.

You still drive that bucket Boyd? I take it you're still angry at the idiot mazda salesman? I think I met the same guy when I went to look at a 3. Started talking about mazda/ford and got some attitude about it. I just had to laugh. I almost traded the Focus for a red SRT-4. It was on the platform at the dodge dealer selling for $24K NEW. My buddy ended up buying it instead. I hate him. I have a $50 winter beater so that I could park the Focus over winter, but the rear suspension and brakes went south, so now it looks like I'm driving the Focus again...
