Hi,

I have a 98 CSVT 118k miles. During low RPM (0-3500), in all gears, the car will start surging/hesitating and check engine light comes on (runs smooth after 4000rpm, but engine light stays on). After shut down car and restart, check engine light off and car runs well. This happens sporratically, so when leave with mech. they are not able to replicate problem. Check engine light won't stay on, so can not diagnose either. Please help, this is frustrating because I have no more avenues to try. Thanks

Check Engine Light codes are stored in the memory, you need to have Autozone retrieve the codes with a scan tool.

I had the same problem I installed new plugs and wires.
I gap the plups at 40. Runing good now.
P.S. Autoulite APP764 (plugs).

I went to Autozone and the reader could not pick up anything. Concerning the plugs and wires, I will try that. Did you use OEM wires?

I used Ford racing wires. And reset the computer.
Go to my post in troubleshooting, ( Malfunctioning IMRC?? )
