If you can afford it go with the RX8, if not the 8 then go with the Mazda6 6speed v6 and finally the Mazda3 with a 5-speed. Thats the order I would look into them at. However I would go with a CSVT until 2006 when the Mazda Speed 6 comes out with the 270something hp! Thats my plan!

Buying cars new.... I will never do it...almost pay half as much 20k miles and 1 year later... Maybe I'm the only one who isnt comfortable enough to pay $30k on a vehicle that loses its value faster than you can pay for it.... Tell me I'm not the only one.

That made me sound mean... but I'm not trying to be a jerk.

<--- see....happy.

Well... unless you want an automatic, there is no 6-speed Mazda6 V6. The manual is a 5-speed, though the MazdaSpeed will be offered with a 6-speed manual, though it sticks you with the sedan body, a turbo 4, and AWD.

Flemoid... while I agree that a new car is a terrible decision from the aspect of financial analysis, a car is not solely a financial decision. Buying new allows you to be at the fore of the auto market versus a little behind the curve. It also allows you to break in the car and know how he was treated his whole life. This has value to many people, including myself.

Depending on what you need a car for, the Mazda RX-8 may or may not be the car for you... It's a great GT car, but if you need to use the rear seat regularly for people or cargo, it's not practical enough to also be hauler.

This is why I bought a 6 hatchback.

Hey man, sorry to hear what happened, wish you the best of luck of getting everything taken care of .

To kind of bring this back to topic, what do you guys think about the weekend of May 14-15 or 21-22. I kind of want this to not necessarily be a 2 day thing, but longer than a couple hours. Personally, I want to go through at least one tank of gas. A quick idea would be something to the effect of Winona to Wabasha to Zumbro Falls to Rochester to Spring Valley. You know, a nice, long, cruse to show off our tours, and to see what they can do if you know what I mean .

I can't believe you've heard of spring valley... I assume you've been there... that would be a great place to go... Why 29 runs right through it... no cops on that road from Menomonie to River Falls... none. I know... ive been on it over 500 times i bet.

I was talking about Spring Valley, MN. But my idea was just a quick tour of South East Minnesota with quite a few roads where we could clean out the exhaust systems . I can just taste one of them now, 10 miles of straight, flat roadway where I found my governed speed multiple times (55 MPH for those cops out there of course). Keep the suggestions coming, and how about those dates, I was hoping for a date after Spring Semester is over, yet before Spring Zing. RCTC gets out on the 11th.
