Uhm, so a couple weeks ago I posted wondering if some symptoms were related to my IMRC going bad. Basically under load over 3000 RPM I get a real bad jerking (at around 1/2 - 3/4 tank of gas). Well I just had the CEL pulled and it showed this sensor being bad. An $18 part no less. So I searched and found the sensor is basically on the right side of the engine (2000 SVT). Could this be causing the problem? And where more specifically is it located and can it be fixed by someone with fairly limited knowledge and resources?

I also showed a P0156/0161 O2 Sensor in bank 2 having faults which needs to be replaced, could this be causing the sensor to show bad? are they related in anyway?

sweet thanks!

Paul

P0340 indicates that Self-Test has detected a Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor circuit failure.

You have a CEL code for a Camshaft sensor, could this be bad..YES! Change it!

If your computer dosen't know where the camshaft is, then it can't properly judge the fuel/exhaust.
It's a relatively cheap part and could cause your O2 codes.

I've got a question. I was looking at the Camshaft Position Sensor and was thinking, "If I take this off will oil poor out?" I've got a Zetec 2.0 lawnmowerrr.. I mean engine.

It will take you 5 minutes.
Unscrew one bolt, pull out sensor, screw in bolt!

Just to follow up (i hate searching, finding a similar problem, but then not knowing if the solution worked)....

I replaced the Cam Shaft Position Sensor, and cleared the CEL. It's been off for a week now, and seemed to clear the O2 codes as well.

The car before wouldn't run smooth around 1/2 tank (about 160 miles) It's been a week, I have 220 on the trip meter since last fill up, and am just under a 1/2 tank and it seems to be running FAIRLY smooth. This morning it sort of hesitated under hard accel. once. I'm going to check to make sure the air filter is clean, but for the most part the car is running MUCH better. Anything else I could check to see why the car is running rough under hard acceleration (over 3000 RPM)?

Hesitation is is most likely related to your fuel pump or plugs and wires. You have returnless so I'm guessing your pump is beginning to go. If you need help swaping it I've done one already in a 99. I'm in G.R. Should cost around $100 for the Focus SVT pump.

Yeah, once below 1/4 tank it's doing the typical hesitation related to a bad fuel pump. I filled it last night and it's fine for now. Looks like I'll be buying a new pump this weekend.
