Tried searching for "aluminum" in hopes of having something come up, but didn't have any luck. Does anyone make aluminum rotors (either solid or drilled, slotted) as an OEM replacement for a '98SVT??

Why would anyone make rotors out of such a soft material?

actually wilwood makes aluminum rotors for like really light applications. e.g. Midget

if you really want to reduce unsprung weight, there are always titanium rotors: http://www.zmibrakes.com/

the first one will not work well w/ contour, the second -- w/ your credit cards...

Racing with one or more who use them I can say they are not worth the weight savings. I"ve seen one explde recently and also know that they never seem to achieve the 'bite' they need to work really well. And on a heavy street car they'd be crap.

Forget it, move on.
