I can't jump my car right now unless I move it, and I can't move it because I cannot engage neutral. Is their someway to override the electric lock this disables me from engaging neutral?

it's not a good idea to run the car on a completely dead battery. you may end up paying for a lot more than a new battery. I had the battery die on me in a Contour, but not to the point that nothing worked. just $0.02

Turn the key to almost on, then move the shifter.
The solenoid is a powered interlock, so it can be moved when the ignition is out of LOCK but not in RUN.
Check your owner's manual, the exact procedure is in there.

Emergency mechanical release is available by inserting flat srewdriver through hole in passenger side of console, as described in owner's manual.
Ford manual download if required.

Thanks for the answers. You guys gave me 2 answers, neither of which I can find in the owners manual. Could you tell me which page it is on?
