I'm going to get an EBC and am looking for the most bang for the buck. At first I had been dreaming about the World Electronics Total Boost Control (TBC-1) until I noticed how spendy it is The HKS EVC PRO is another that has all the functions I could want, but it's way too spendy for my application. So now I have it narrowed down to 1 The SUPER AVC TYPE-R I did notice the Greddy PROFEC E-01 , but I think I'd need emanagment to use most of the options.... I mainly want the option to control boost per RPM. Does anyone have a better option for me than the Apexi unit....or is that about the best option for the price?

Build your own.
Sure it won't have a fancy display but all you really need is an rpm trigger and electric valve.
You could build one for pocket change depending on what valve you used.
Then you could rub it in to all the folks that spent a ton of their's and it's only used for the same thing.

It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.

I would make a homemade unit, but am leaning more towards the apexi unit to be on the safe side. This is one of the last things I have to get for my SVT, so I'll have to look into the homemade.....er...."custom" setups

What about now?
Is anyone else using an EBC, and if so which one and how would you rate it?
I did find this for a DIY type controller

Because I got all new harnesses replaced under recall, all the wiring for my apexi avcr was diconnected. Right now im just running a manual boost controller which seems to get the job done for now. Once I get it cranked up to about 16 psi or so, ill be anxious to the EBC hooked back up.

I'm using a Blitz unit, but it's only at 12 psi right now. The car is going in for a dyno test & tune on tuesday, so we can see how good it actually is.

Well, I was able to pick up a Greddy Profec B for a really good deal. Though it doesn't have the RPM scaling features that I wanted, it will be much better than a MBC'er.
Eventually I'd like to switch over to the Apexi unit, but this Greddy unit may prove to be more than enough for what I need.
