hey was up guys, how much tranny fluid does a manual transmission use? and what type? thanks guys for your help.
98 svt contour, magnaflows, sho shop intake, sho shop high flow cat, no pre cats, custom cougars short shifter, 3 liter hybird engine woo hoo im happy, and just added a dmd underdrive pulley.

Your 98 takes 2.7 quarts and many people report that there is nothing wrong with putting in a full three quarts.
As for what you can use in it, do a search, or look up my recient posts where I listed the options in boring detail. I don't really care to repeat it. This is a frequently asked question and has been answered many times in the past.

well then why even post in a forum if u cant get any help? THats what these [censored] rooms are for. to ask questions and help. Im not in the transaxle forum everyday. There so many stupid people out there

Post in a forum to get information. Search in a forum to get information that is brought up time and time again. Who cares if you aren't in the transaxle forum everyday? I've never been in the zetec performance forum but that doesn't mean I'm stuipd enough to go in there and ask which air filter is best. Don't ask a rediculously over-done question and then [censored] when someone tells your stupid ass to search.

for some reason Summit doesn't offer it anymore..well at least thats what the website says.

you guys need to look up some of the other car forums out there, like vintage-mustangs.com, just to see how many rude a-holes are in this one. I have never seen an answer like this in the others, and by the way, you wrote a response so you might of well have answered his question. this is the exact reason that I hardly ever come here anymore.

id say go out and buy the synthetic stuff. the red line stuff works, lol though i dunno if its any better than others. I use the mobil full synthetic oil and it seems to look better than the regular stuff when i change it (i know you didnt ask about oil but hey Im being nice) Oh whats this about vintage mustangs? They into mystiques and such too? Dont wanna piss anyone off but this forum does have its fair share or I should say, more than its fair share of attitude. try the guys in the eastern canada regional section, they be nice guys

Stuff like this has been talked about many times over....as i have been apart of many of the conversations....Big Jim wasnt rude about it, and i don;t blame him for directing him to use search....He has posted many times over and answered many questions like this.
If you do a search on Transmission Fluid, ot MTX fluid or anything along that lines, you will see a long lost of topics.
imnot trying to be mean in any way, but i ahve to ask...You complain that no one answered peoples questions anymore, and thats what the forums are for.
Well the same can be said for people who don;t use search.
whats the point of having a search feature if no one uses it?????
its a 2 way street, and if you cannot find it by searching then ask.
But to answer the question, 3 quarts redline MTL fluid. if your transmission is having problems, use ATf +3...Syntetic fluid like Redline, will make things worse.
