Well guys it is a sad day for the tour. I wrecked her last night. Had 3 other people in the car was going around a turn , and saw an SUV coming, and appeared to be over the double yellow, I turned slightly so the car was about a foot or 2 off the road in the grass, and as I was recovering I hit an unmarked square ditch(more of a giant black hole). The ditch was 6'x8' and around 4' deep. The right front wheel went in and pulled the rest of the car into it, we bounced pretty hard, and the air bags came out. NO ONE WAS HURT AT ALL, this was the only good part. The windshield is cracked, the airbags are deployed, the right rear wheel is bent all out, and the front bumper needs replacement, but I didnt see any other major problems. The engine was still running until I turned it off.I was cited for failure to control, which is [censored] because had there not been a huge unmarked drainage ditch that had just been dug we would have been fine with no damage or injuries .Also the fact that I was just being a defensive driver to avoid what could have been a head on collision. Naturally the driver of the SUV drove on , didnt stop. Makes me wonder if they were under the influence at 11 at night. I have to go take pictures cause the officer I dont think did. This ditch is going to take someones life who may be going faster than me or hit it more straight on , cause the officer said there are accidents there at that turn all the time. I am still shaken up, and dont know what to do , but to just to hope shes not totalled. And to hope my dad doesnt chop my b*#$s off when the insurance rate comes back.
Griffin
P.S. besides the fact that the cop did cite me, he was a really nice guy!

Were you in Cincy or the 'burbs? Glad the cop was cool, you may want to subpeona him also,as he can testify that the turn is dangerous, and to the condition/lack of signage warning motorists of the work area. This sucks Griff, check my post on the meet thread..is this a ploy to get the Cobra?? Glad your o.k. lil' bro.

well I went and helped unload her off the recker today at a body shop I know real well right next to work where we send all the Porsches and Audis. She isnt lookin great , but the rear wheel is ony bent all outta shape because of a control arm or some sort of bar that is bent and that is only 50 dollars to repair. Other repairs needed include; windshield(260), two airbags(1200), right front fender(650), front bumper cover(900),some randombracket pieces(200-300),possibly the hood(small crease)(500) thats about all It can think of. Me and the body shops owners son whom I know went over it just to try to get a gist of what its gonna cost before the appraiser comes tomorrow. We figured after looking up all the parts and stuff to be about 4,000-5,000 . Hopefully they dont total it . I think even if they do We will just decide to do all the repairs ourselves and not make a claim. She still starts and runs and goes in gear and all that fine with no warning lights except for the airbag light of course. None of the Konigs look at all bent either which is kinda surprising. I dont know we will just have to wait and hear from the word from the appriaser whom the body shop is real good friends with. I also went and took pictures today of the ditch it is officially 3 inches from the outer edge of the white line marking the edge of the lane . It is not marked, unlike several other of the same kind of ditches around. We will def. be taking all this to court and hopefully get the state to pay for it , if not we'll just bring a law suit against the sate(my dad being a top 25 ohio super-lawyers and all). Thanks for all the support, I will be checking in on her everyday now, as she is only about 400 yards from work. They have a reallll nice shop , top-notch. Thanks again , and I'll keep you posted. Have fun at the meet , ill be working to try to help my pops swallow some of this bill . Later
Griff

TOTALLED!!!! . They said the maximum amount of repair costs before it was considered totalled was 2500!!!! They have yet to call us, but I talked to my buddy down at the body shop and this is what he told me. What kind of [censored] is this. I think we might still just not make a claim and pay to fix it ourselves , but we still have to talk about it. I would like to put up pictures of this ditch so you all can see what kind of [censored] it is, and how dangerous it is. There will definetly be a law suit now.Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
