The other day on my 96 GL 2.5 my drivers side front brake started making a awful noise. When I checked it, the top 1/2 inch of my rotor is getting ground indentations in it.(It looks like a bright silver halo that is rougher than crap) I mean they are rough ridges. I have some pad left and am not sure if it migh be something else. I know my rotor is shot because there is no way they could smooth this out. Just wondering if some one could give me a heads up befor I change it out this weekend.
Thanks

It's a longshot, but it sounds like your pad may have popped out of the caliper. Good luck with it, hopefully nothing serious. Let us know!

Are you sure that the pad retention clip is still there? It's the wire thingy that holds the pads in place. When the dealer sold me my used car, I ended up having to replace the rotors and the pads and buying a $10 piece of metal because the front left clip didn't exist when bought.
