OP bamf2go CEG\'er B Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 208 North Carolina	What is with all of these subs having dual 2 ohm voice coils (i.e. stryke AV's, Adire Brahma's)...do they just expect everyone who gets them to get two? It seems very impractical and expensive too get 1200 watts in a 4 ohm load and almost all good amps now run safe at a 2 ohm load...it's just rather annoying for those of us not looking to buy two subwoofers. 1998 black Contour SVT E0 -KKM Intake -B&M Short Shifter -SPARCO front strut tower bar -24mm Aussie rear sway bar

hmouta_dup1 Hard-core CEG'er H Joined: Aug 2001 Posts: 4,639 Waterbury,CT	thats part of life. i only have one av12 and actually just finished the relay wiring to be able to switch from series (4ohm) to parallel (1ohm). got a jbl 600.1 sitting for it. the jbl is 1ohm stable but there's no extra power so its the 2ohm 600watt rating. i'll run 300watts series for daily/sq and switch for some serious boom (if hanging out like tailgating or doing an audio show, which i dont have any plans of doing). Buy a 2ch amp and run it in bridged mode with your single sub presenting a 4ohm load (guessing 2ohm DVC). There are a slew of amps out there (for $200 and under) that can put down 500w or more into a 4ohm mono load.
