I have a 2000 CSVT with about 43000mi and I am now experiencing the bucking problem. I did a search and I really am having a hard time following what everyone was discussing. I saw a post titled "Problem solved", but I really didn't see what the solution was. Has anyone found a solution that definitely works so that I won't have to spend thousands of dollars. Any help would be nice.

Can you explain a little more about what your bucking problem is. Is it when coasting, accelerating, cruising, what RPM range etc. Any CEL lights or other symptoms? Wild a$$ guesses would be plugs and/or wires, fuel filter, or possible fuel pump. (If bucking at higher rpms) If the idle and low speeds are rough, check for an intake leak.

No CEL lights, but the bucking does begin when I start to accelerate. It normally starts in all gears around 3k rpms. It happens whether I have a full or 1/4 tank of gas.

Sounds like the fuel pump problems that others have mentioned on the site. I don't think this is limited to SVTs, but it seems like more SVT owners have been involved with this problem. You might want to change the fuel filter (under $10) just as good practice before going for the pump.

I have a 98.5 SVT and it is doing the exact same thing. It doesnt do it everytime, but sometimes when I shift and start to give it gas it bucks or stutters. It is mostly on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts between 3-4k rpms and is most likely to do it when the car is under a load, going up a hill or accelerating! I have only had the car for 2 weeks so at first I thought it was just my driving, but I am starting to think otherwise.
The car recently had its 30k mile service and the fuel filter looks fairly new so I assume its been replaced. And there is no cel either!
I tried searching the site but nobody seems to have a clear answer, and I know if I take it in to the dealer its not going to do it!

The problem is the circular filter on the fuel pump sump. Earlier tours do not have this type of fuel pump. Ford went to a returnless system mid 99 or 98. I solved the problem on my 2000 se sport be removing the circular filter. There is still a sock type filter on the fuel pump, and the in line fuel filter for the engine. You will have to drop the tank to get at the fuel pump. Remove the pump sump from the tank and remove the circular filter. These things seem to clog every 30 to 40,000 miles.
