Beachbum always says you can park in the show area without actually being in the show. Not sure if they police that or not...

you mean pay as spectator at the gate and then proceed to the show area instead of the dirt parking lot?

Yes. Of course, then you would not be able to take part in the judging of other cars and having people judge you. That's part of the fun IMHO. My scorecard is usually at least have NECEG folks though. Then maybe a Lightning, maybe a Mustang, something vintage, etc.

[guy at the gate] you know son, that car looks like it has a cadilac style body on it.

[Elky] Yeah, I know, but it has a Ford drivetrain.

[guy at the gate] Well, why didn't you say so, come right in.

winning awards is not the point.
having a huge amount of Contours representing is the best part.

we could be representing in the parking lot for $10 less!

humm, you both make good points.

FWIW- We paid as spectators last year...and we still parked with you guys. Maybe that's cause people weren't dumb enough to confuse a MAZDA symbol with a Ford car! haha!

IIRC, they have stricter rules this year. it has to SAY Ford and BE Ford in order to participate in the show. and i think they are only allowing show cars on the lawn.

check out the web site and give thema call to be certain.

I'm planning on going for Saturday only.

I need to make a better showing than last year.

Hopefully it won't rain the day before the show this year (like it did last year) so I don't have to scramble to re-do the wash 'n' wax 'n' stuff.

I agree that winning awards isn't the point...

Although with the beating my car took this winter, it's not even a possibility.

Hey! That's like the weekend after next! Holy crap this Summer is going quick!

I think last year's showing was pretty decent.
Pretty sure it was bigger than the year before that.
Let's see if I can recall correctly (list of NE-CEG Contiques):

Hugo
Ryan
Brian A.
Brian S.
Pat
friend of Pat's (sorry I forgot the name)
Mike
Elky
Doug
Pappy Dick
Monkeybiz
Karen&Steve (before purchase, still counts)
Jay

um. duh. uh oh, memory fading. there were a couple more.
Ed?
