I'm trying to decide on what cluth to purchase to replace my aging stock clutch. I'm looking for a street application that will get the occasional speed test So I still want something that will feature smooth transition, yet some good bite. Is it possible? or do I not know what I'm talking about? I was looking at the Grizzly OEM replacement clutch kit, vs the SVT clutch that I can get from Bill Jenkins. What do you guys think? Any feedback on other clutch kits?

Well, I have the Grizzly OEM replacement and the thing has just been horrible! I have had to have the tranny pulled 4 times b/c of failures from the Grizzly clutch. I've only had it in for 3 months. They have all ben caused by defective parts from Grizzly and Grizzly will not reimburse me for labor costs to fix it. They only pay for parts. Which hardly helps any when the part that breaks only costs $30 but the trans pull and everything costs $1000. There is no way I could recommend this clutch. It's not like I beat on my car either. Generally easy driving with some redline shifts thrown in there. No hard launches. And it's not b/c I cant drive, the stock clutch lasted 50,000 miles and the only reason I replaced it was b/c I thought I was doing myself a favor when I had the 3rd gear syncro replaced. The stock clutch looked great when it was pulled.
But, there are some people on here who have had no problems. They would probably recommend the clutch to you. Please dont go just by my opinion though, see what the others say. I just got a lemon clutch I guess.

I guess the real deciding factor is what's going to work best with the Fidanza flywheel I'm considering..... Searches turned up alot of problems with RAM clutches and the Fidanza flywheel. Grizzly hasn't had any great recomendations by anyone either. So I gues right now, I'm tossing up the idea of the Centerforce or Cluthmasters or stock SVT clutch. Maybe if I don't hear any feedback, the choice will be based on price... So can anyone compare your centerforce/clutchmasters vs stock SVT clutch? Especially clutching on a Fidanza flywheel if applicable?

Centerforce Dual Fricition has a relative stock pedal feel with 90% additional holding capacity over stock HP and Torque#'s. The BMW guys here in southwest Florida don;t just buy junk for their cars and they swear by them (centerforce). The clutch is so pretty I didn;t want to install it but hang it on the wall. You do need to buy the release bearing which does not come with it like most clutch systems do but at $416 you can;t beat it.

Is this release bearing something I buy from Ford? Is it relatively inexpensive? I figure I'll need a new gasket to seal the tranny to the engine block too....

The experience Ive had with Centerforce clutches have proven them to wear much quicker than Clutchmasters clutches. Either clutch should be good for what you are looking for, just stay away from the Unorthodox...
