OP cakemix26 Junior Member C Joined: Jun 2002 Posts: 19 Mi	Got right in there and cleaned that black nasty stuff off the valve and inside the throttle body. But the check engine light turned on... any ideas? 96 Contour LX ATX No mods yet cept' the best electronic music!

louisw Moderator L Joined: May 2000 Posts: 2,112 Austin, TX	first make sure you plugged all the connectors back like the MAF, TPS, EGR, etc. If not, try clearing the computer. The light is probably just a misfire due from the cleaning solvents. -Louis 1998 Black E0 #3826, lightly modded

Alkraut Member A Joined: May 2002 Posts: 47 Upstate NY	Disconnect the negative battery terminal for five minutes. That will re-set the computer. Worth a try. Good Luck.
