Well... after readings wonders about clay bars I bought a kit: clay Magic (or something like that).

I reallly bought to use it on my hood. The very front is not looking that nice anymore. Anyway, I bought the thing and tried to use it.... Nothing changed !!! mad mad

I used just like people here have been saying: use the lube and "scratch" the bar on the car...

Nothing comes out !!!!

Now my question is.... Did I buy a fake clay bar ??? It really seemed to be cool... the bar was even made in Japan eek

It is just that everybody was talking about how this thing is so magic...

You got the bar for the wrong reasons. You use a clay bar to remove the surface imperfections.... Sap, etc. Well lube the area and go back and forth and in the direction of the way the car travels. Anyway I think you expected the bar to be a cure all..

exactly, it gets rid of all the dirt and contaminents on the paint and makes it "smooth."

That 's what I was expecting... i was trying to get the "rough" out and make it smooth again...

Maybe that MagicClay is BS. I should buy the Zaino clay bar and try it...

Clay magic is one of the better brands, some say better than the Zaino bar. What were you using for the lubricant?

I used the Claymagic bar, and was very happy with the results. I don't think it is the bar, and I'm not implying anything by that, so don't take it the wrong way. smile

I used the Zaino car wash (Z-7) mixed with water in a spray bottle, I probably usd too much of it as the whole bottle was gone when I was done claying. All I know is the instructiosn said to keep it wet at all times and that is exactly what I did.

I need to do my Sister's Accord, it has been waxed eek and is in need of some help, oh well Zaino to the rescue! Maybe I'll have some results and pics when the board comes back, hell I'll have nothing else to do! wink

if you want all the knicks and scratches out you're looking a a professional high speed polish or in extreme cases a wetsand. It cost me $125 to get my hood and trunk wetsanded on my old car. and the worst part is it'll just get messed up again.
