Bingo! It's virtually impossible to get a good, quality low light shot without a tripod (or anything stable to set the camera on). Get set up, then take the same pic over and over at different exposure settings, then different aperature settings. Keep a record of what pic had what setting, then you can compare the pics later and see what the settings do. It's a bit of work, but will be worth it once you learn what will get you that great low-light shot! And remember, PhotoShop (or other editing software) is your friend! You can correct a number of problem areas and still get a great pic with what was originally just a good one.

despite his feelings towards me, i agree .

most low light shots will get light-streaks (technical term?) without something steady to hold the camera with. most newer digital cameras will actually imprint the data such as aperture/shutter speed/iso onto the image properties (right click on the image, go to summary, might have to click advanced). i personally take 5 or 6 shots of the same angle just to make sure one of them comes out correctly

Great pictures!! Love the location. Love the stock look of the SVT. I hope some day I can own a stock svt like that.

tripods can be had fairly cheaply on ebay. i think i got one for my olympus for about 40 bucks shipped.

and you should cut your springs, all the cool kids are doing it

Put some super swampers and enter it in Mom's mudbog. Plenty of clearance.
