Hey guys...Anyway, I recently got my car going with the new 3l in it...woohoo. I previously had the Trubendz non-res w/ magnaflow on the car, and wih the swap I added MSDS headers and a Trubendz Hiflow y-pipe w/ cat. The car is rediculously noisy and I want to tone it down a few steps. I figured the best thing to do would be to add some mufflers or resonators in the back before the tips. I'm sort of looking for the cheapest route to achieve this since school is starting in 2 weeks and all my money is going to books. I figure with anything I get, I'm going to have to vut out a section of the trubendz kit to fit a M/R in the spot. What I'm looking for is a suggestion of a M/R that will help sedate my exhaust pretty well, and has the inlet/outlet in the same spot on each side, so that my exhaust will stay aligned. I'm open to suggestions...

(and those who want to say search can stick that flame up there @$$. I didn't find anything helpful enough.)

Add some resonators, large ones in fact.

It will really tone down the noise!!

Yea, any suggestions on which ones? I'm trying to not break the bank with these. And on top of the res I'll have to buy a pipe cutter and an expander.

NVM

Just read the stickies...hehe.

Give me your current set up and buy a truebendz resonated system.

i got tired of the noise my car too. so i threw in a dynomax super turbo muffler. i use a thrush 28 inch glasspack as a resonator no rasp at all. hopefully it wont be too loud if i go catless. i have msds headers and y,with full 2.5 inch exhaust. the resonator was liek $20 from jeggs and the muffler was just $42 at advanced auto parts. most peopel say teh dynomax superturbos suck but it works good for keeping the noise down and flowing good, i dont feel any power loss either.

You should hear my car with my test pipe on and the rear two mufflers dropped(they're flanged so i can remove them)

I'm worried about this also...

When I bought the car, it had:
  • gutted manifolds
  • custom dual exhuast down pipes (I guess you'd call them?)
  • dual 2.5" flex pipes
  • small y fitting
  • 2.5"/3" adaptor
  • 3"/3" Dynomax Ultra Flow in resonator spot
  • A 3"/3" Y pipe
  • dual 3"/3" Edelbrock mufflers
  • 3.5" chrome angle cut tips

    Now the car has:
  • W-R Headers
  • custom dual exhuast down pipes (I guess you'd call them?)
  • dual 2.5" flex pipes
  • small y fitting
  • 2.5"/3" adaptor
  • 3"/3" Dynomax Ultra Flow in resonator spot
  • A 3"/3" Y pipe
  • Rusted through/broken Edelbrock Mufflers
  • 3.5" tips

Car is going to have (whenever dude's shop finally gets repaired... damn CE ):
  • W-R Headers
  • W-R Y pipe
  • 2.5" flex pipe
  • 2.5"/3" adaptor
  • 3"/3" Dynomax Ultra Flow in resonator spot
  • A 3"/3" Y pipe
  • Dual 3"/3" SS Dynomax Ultra Flows
  • 3" tips

I had a feeling after looking in one end of the Ultra Flow and saw 3" of nothingness all the way thru that I won't pass inspection in January, unless I get a cool inspector dude.
