That Vespa was stolen this morning. HA. Surprisingly enough, it hasn't really affected me like I thought a stolen vehicle would.

Win some you lose some. Guess this one just wasnt meant to be.

To add some seriousness to this, what does one do with the insurance after something like this. Once I get the money to pay back the loan, would I just go ahead and cancel the policy. It seems like a "take the money and run" situation, but I will no longer have the scooter to insure. Are they automatically expecting me to buy another? Do I have to buy another one?

You don't have to keep the policy and you don't have to buy another one. The insurance might not like you cancelling the policy, but why should you continue to pay for something you don't have anymore.

It's somewhat like when you get hit and you own your car outright. The insurance writes you a check to repair the car and it is your choice what to do with the money. You can take the check and repair the car or you can pocket it. It matters not to them.
