the STS turbo kit is BS. i have realized that a true twin turbo is that the turbo are right off the manifold. if they are 3+ft downstream from the manifold you loose power and then just having one giant turbo would do the trick. and since there is NO room on the rear manifold i will have to go with a single turbo setup. honestly the only way to get a turbo on the rear manifold would be to cut the front clip at the firewall and extend it 6inches forward and mod alot. to complicated. 1 big A turbo and hi boost. im gunna go with the Noble M400 powerplant with a custom MTX75 USDM by Terry Haines and Quaife. ideas on what type of turbo, blow off valve, etc. would be helpful. thank you everyone for your help. -James C.

Can you elaborate? I used to think they were stupid too, but with the numbers they seem to be putting down, you can't really call them BS.

I think you can pick up a Noble engine for $4200. I know at least one person here has purchased one.

he owns HMS and was one of the engineers who designed the MTX-75 so he kinda knows what he is doing, usually runs about $2500 to get a race prepped tranny from him(you provide the tranny) and the noble motor is an excellent start if you have the $4300

This is big bucks territory for a Contour. You know I actually started to write a response about how foolish it seems for a young man to throw money away like that... too tired to waste my time.

Heres a litmus test for the practicality of this:
1. You do not live at home
2. You have finished college, or never intend to finish
3. You can keep $20,000 of money you earned in an account you alone control for 60 days without having to touch it (not college fund money or something given you)

If this is all true, then you are probably safe to throw away relatively big chunks of money at a hot rod SVT Contour. Certainly cheaper than gambling or illegal drugs.

Of course we have seen our share of 17 year old web site millionaires come through here earning well into the six figures while still living at home...and not shy at all to talk about how great it is! For such wonderkin the normal rules of common sense do not apply.

Everytime I read one of these stupid-arse topics a little more of me dies inside, and it pushes me further away from the CEG. This place is going to hell in a handbasket...

People need to get real and stop thinking of Import Tuner as the bible.
