The BODY IS OFF!

Now I just have to strip the frame, get it finished, build the motor, tranny, finish the body, and REASSEMBLE! That's like 50 years away!

Anyway....

Dude, seriously. Do you really need that old car to hold up all your bicycles?

My inital thought was that it was a Maverick, but then I saw the separate frame and the fact it was a hardtop. Definitely looks GM. Definitely a LONG way to go, man!

Come on, if Chip Foose and the A-Team can do it in a week, why can't you?

so... THAT'S the answer to the age old question.

How does one turn a two car garage into a one car garage.

My dad was fortuate, he had the town shop to store the projects he always meant to get to and never finished.

That's a good start! I'm glad to see people restore a classic the right way and pull the body

Eastwood makes a ton of products that will come in handy, but I'm sure you know of them already. POR15 also makes a few quality products you could use too.

If you want to make it easier on yourself, I have a good write up w/ pics to build a rottiserie to mount the body or the frame to. You'd be able to go nuts on the detal level of the restoration

I'd be very interested in that write up. I PM'ed you my email.

I'm trying to decide right now which way to go with the frame. I'm leaning toward stripping it and having it powdercoated, but I don't know. I'm getting to the point that I'm going to have to spend more than time on it and that will take me a little longer than I want...

And yes, it's a Buick Skylark that I hope to fully customize. I don't want a clone of the GS, but I will be using several aspects of the GS on it (hood, grille). And I wish Foose could get his hands on it, I would really like what he would do.

Yeah, the frame is actually going to be stored outside. I have a 79 Buick that gets the other half of the garage, at least until I get the frame redone! We'll see what happens...
