Had a great past couple of months watching the NHL and NBA playoffs and finals. I think this year was one of the best years I can remember watching. Now all thats left for the summer is Baseball (bores the hell out of me) and NASCAR (Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks) whicn I don't even watch.. Can't wait for college and pro football to start up!!

After the ChiSox beat the Cardinals 20-6, I can see how you'd say baseball is boring. Too bad you probably missed out on the exciting college football classic of Illinois and Northwestern's 0-0 tie, the zenith of the Gary Moeller era in Champaign.

I'd put the NFL at the top of the heap, but the NBA does not belong in the same sentence, and the NHL belongs on cable with soccer/golf/tennis/tiddlywinks.

Yeah first time in 10 years that has happened. So once every what, 1620 games? Thats exciting .. Honestly, baseball is alright, but its just too drawn out. If your at a game its one thing, but I need to see some action if I'm going to plant my ass in a chair infront of a tv for 3 hours.
The majority of watching baseball is this.

-batter swings and misses
-camera changes to shot of pitcher catching ball thrown back to him
-camera changes to shot of a little kid who has fallen asleep from the excitement in the stands (anouncers make some stupid comment)
-camera changes back to batter who is still out of batters box practicing his swing for the umteenth time.
-camera changes to the batter on the on-deck circle practicing his swing (anouncers make a comment about how he just got back in the lineup after a week off with a BRUISED FINGER!!)
-camera changes to the coach who is sitting there doing nothing while chewing on sesame seeds
-camera scrolls the dugout where everybody is relaxing, spitting out seed shells and scratching their balls.
-camera goes back to batter who is just now stepping back into the batters box, digging in his feet for 5 seconds, adjusting his grip on the bat for 5 seconds. looking like an ass for 5 seconds while the pitcher and catcher argue about what pitch to throw.
- Next pitch is thrown and about 22.6% of the time if the batter choses to swing(2004 MLB batting average, only statistic I could find) the batter might make contact with the ball and have something of significance happen. The other 77.4% of the time....repeat the process listed above.

MLB needs a "step up to the damn plate" clock, kind of like the shot clock in basketball. Where if you don't get your lazy ass up to the plate and ready to swing by a certain time you have a choice off getting charged with a strike or having a wild pitch thrown at you without your bat.

I don't hate soccer, but like hockey, I can't watch it on TV. Both are extremely fun to watch live.

Baseball is for scoping out men. They should ban the baggy pants some teams wear.

Basketball is OK, but football is definitely my favorite.

amen!

UFC is by far my favorite sport, followed by football (american football, not soccer). baseball is about the most boring sport i've ever witnessed, but the tight pants are cute . i love a live hockey game. too boring on TV. and i only watch basketball for the fan vs. team brawls that my home team is so good at
