Anyone care to help Carb my car?

What all does it involve changing?

just buy the kit from burton power. you can get either one that has 4 individual carbs or one with port injection and throttle bodies (thats how i would go) the only downside to either of these setups is that they are about $4-5k. however if you could get the intake manifold and 4 small throttle bodies i bet you could link them all together and put it on the dyno for a custom tune to make it work for much less than the kit.

And the best part is....For the same price as a supercharger, you can have an all-out N/A Engine that completely outperforms a blown one. I'm sure a few of these guys'll help you out, seeing as we all have wanted to see this happen in a Contour for some time now. Try PM'ing SleeperZ. He knows just about everything there is to know and should be able to tell you the most about setting up for carbs.

Oh, IIRC a brit posted something on here about some gkuys over in Britain putting a kit together from Motorcycle carbs. I think it was Boggbrothers or something like that?

the alpha kit uses either carbs or throttle bodies. if someone decides to do this i would recommend the throttle body version.

Go with the Alpha throttle body kit...it comes with everything you need, injectors, reprogrammed ecu, TPS, lambda (02) sensor, etc.

Going with a dual or quad carb setup is an easier mechanical conversion. The kits are readily available and are about 75% bolt-on. Base tuning of this type of setup is fairly easily and the chance of messing up the engine are relatively low. But you will not make as much power as an ITB (individual throttle body) setup or a turbo setup. Should make as much or even a little more power as a s/c setup.
My choice would be to go ITB. The kits are about the same price as a carb setup, but the tuning will be a major investment. If you know what you were doing, had some good tuning and engine management software, a wide band o2, and the ability to make or have somebody make custom hardware, you could build you own kit. The basis of which would be 4 motorcycle TB's. An ITB setup will make more power than a carb setup.

you could probably just buy the kit which as mentioned comes with everything.

If you do go with the carbs, ya gotta get either the FRPP or Cosworth/Focus Sport head and some stage 3 cams.
