Erm.. Joe. That sounds like a serious issue that you should more than investigate before you drive to SZ.

Not a big deal as everyone stated. THe car will still make the trip fine. It smoked because that oil went down into the cylinder when you removed the plug. Just get some new gaskets/seals.

Yah, I know it wasn't a big deal and it does not effect the driveability of the car... I had new valve cover gaskets installed no more than 5 years ago along with a new rear head...

sooo no one answered my question.... do dealerships put oil in by the plugs to help seal everything or does that seem silly - I havn't checked my plugs since I had the head replaced 5 yrs ago so they might have put the oil there... I guess I will find out with time kuz if it is leaking from the valve cover gasket then eventually there will be oil there again... - JOE

Ummm never heard of some puting oil in the plug holes. My Talon done the same thing, sorta made me mad.Change the plugs required taking plugs out to drain oil from holes, put old plugs back in to burn oil out of cylinders, take plugs back out ,install new plugs.Plus if the put oil in the holes the inside of the boot would be covered in oil, which yours are probly not.

5 years is a long time man! I had oil sitting in one of my spark plug holes, and the car is 6 years old. Gaskets wear out, and that's all those spark plug tube seals are. Just a rubber gasket. I'll bet money that's what it is, as that's the only way it could get in there.
