I put bilsteins/H&R springs on my car when it had 95K miles. Two years later, it now has 150K miles and it feels like the struts are dead. Every bump in the road is a harsh jolt and it really seems to lean in turns. I'm noticing how bad it is now that I am splitting time between two vehicles. Is it possible that the struts are worn out already? Can anyone else with this setup chime in?

Thanks.

How are your tires? Often worn tires feel abojut the same as worn struts. Often new struts are sold with a new set of tires and most of what the customer feels is the improvement created by the improved tires rather than the struts.

I would expect your Bilsteins to last longer, but I hope others with Contour Bilstein experience will chime in.

I have recently replace the tires. The old tires were Bridgestone Potenza RE950, and the new ones are BF Goodrich Traction T/A.

I think the BF Goodrich tires are stiffer. I don't know if that would fully account for what you are feeling though.

IMO Bilsteins come with a million mile warranty if I'm not mistaken. Hopefully others will chime in here. I have 37K on mine so far and they seem OK.

Bilsteins have no warranty beyond the initial 90 days. (i.e. new factory defect)

I've had my Bilsteins on for about 3 years (only ~25k miles) but on some of the worst roads in the country. Mine are holding up quite well so far. My stock struts on the same roads did not fair so well. The fronts were weak and the rears were completely shot when I changed them at just under 30k miles.

2000 SVT #674 13.47 @ 102 - All Motor! It was not broke; Yet I fixed it anyway.
