Would it bolt up without modification? I think mine might be shot. Are there electronic differences in the two or anything like that? Thanks, Eric

Ok, after searching I'm still not sure...it's been a long day to say the least. Are the different shift towers an obstacle? or am i reading this wrong?

Alright instead of starting a new thread, im just going to post this here. It pertains to my last post in troubleshooting, and yes i searched first this time.

Ok, so the tranny is stuck in third, clutch engages fine, the shifter wobbles around everywhere, linkage is all hooked up and fine. So I would think the problem may be the shift tower bolt? But when I went to check the linkage i could move it freely with my hand. Should I be able to do that with the car in gear and the clutch not in? If not, then I'm guessing it's definitley an internal problem .

Well the shift tower pins might be different. You'd have to get new shift cables. Would be much cheaper to have it removed and then send it to terry to go over instead of buying a totally new trans you don't know the history of. The 00's had the revised single blocker though. It is not superior to the early twin's. Terry is the only one that has the twin blockers.

I want to say thank you to everyone who helped me out. you guys saved me some money. It was the tower bolt that sheared, ut it fell into the gates in the tranny, so they had to take it out. It's going to cost about a grand for parts and labor. The mechanic said he didn't even think to check that till i showed him those pictures and some of the posts pertaining to it.... so once again...THANK YOU!!!
