ok gang, is it me or have computers gone up in price since the summer? I was debating gettin a new computer but thought id stick it out with my semi upgraded computer. But now i have a good offer for my computer so i thought id take it but now i dont see the same deals i did a couple months ago! So im asking if anyones seen any of the decent deals i missed! Sooo, im looking for a decent system, nothing flashy, around 500, cause i know i saw some for that price. dont have to have a huge hard drive, or amazing graphics or sound cards. Well if anyone knows of any lemme know! thanks!

Take a look at dell, they offer good deal. Also you can pay a visit to best buy, around here in montreal they sell refurbished compaq computer for a joke.

If "brand" is not your think, well, hmm then i don't know..

If you want a laptop and don't mind to order thru internet, a guy near my place run a store, it's all open box, but in "like new" condition stuff visit him at www.bestcost.ca not sure if the site is all french or english

I can build you a custom machine with good graphics for around 650 plus tax if you are still interested.

Specs on on of my machines:
DFI Lan Party Ultra D NF4 PCI-E
AMD Athlon XP 3000+ Venice Core 1.81 GHZ
1024 Kingston Value Ram
BFG geforce 6600 GT
Western Digital W800 80 GB HDD (20 Beans more for 160GB)
Aspire Explorer case or Generic Your Choice

REMEMBER INTEL IS DIFFERENT THAN AMD FOR PROCESSOR SPEEDS SO DON'T BE DISCOURAGED BY THE LOW PROCESOR SPEED NUMBERS

You have to get your own OS but it will come with a version of windows XP home you can try out for 30 days.

The system plays all the newest games like, BF2, COD2, HALFLIFE2, and the best thing is the system is totaly upgradeable, want more speed get a faster processor (ie. 3200, 3500, 4000, FX-5?, etc) want more ram, cool theres more slots for it.

Just as a warning I don't offer any warranty pertaining to overclocking and so on, if you OC it and burn it up i am not responsible. The systems do come with 1 year manufactures warranty but in order to comply with the warranty i reccomend NOT changing chipset, or CPU coolers.

My system that I use to show everyone is massive and its even an older revision of the same board. But it plays EVERYTHING without breaking a sweat.

If you want some more information just write me @ eddie_festiva@hotmail.com

Dell is your best bet for the $500 mark. There really isn't anything else with anywhere near a quality mark for that range. Beware though Dell will sting you for upgrades, things like a 3.5" Floppy can add up to $100!

The best low price I can sell, though my own business is an Acer Aspire AS80 for $500 shipped direct to your door.

Specs:

2.88GHz Celeron ; 256MB RAM ; 80GB HDD ; CD-RW/DVD ; 10/100MB NIC ; Windows XP Home Edition (English)
No Monitor, floppy add $10

BTW, this isn't me trying to sell my wares, but will give you an idea of what to look at, and it's my base unit. Acer are very competitively priced.

No GB's from me, I don't want to bankrupt my little business while it's still in growth stage! There's actually no real margin in hardware sales anyway, so I have a tendency to shy away from it unless I have 100% commitment to order, or it's a corporate client, because the cheques come easy from them
