Dealer installed a new dash in my 00 Contour SE in 2001, with the retrofit kit from Ford which was applied to cure the warpage issues. Howeve, the dash has a persistent rattle (tick-tack), appears to be coming from the defroster vents, near the windshield. Has anyone experienced these issues? The Ford dealer is not very helpful, thinking about going to a different one, or a good A/C shop. I like this car, has only 60M miles, want to keep it and upgrade the suspension, but the rattles make if sound like a piece of junk. Any ideas?

I've got the same problems but only really when I go over bumps and so. Also I'm riding on 19's.

mine's only over bumps as well. The only cure is to pull the dash out, and pad any area that could be causing the rattle. Perhaps if ya got under the dash you could check for anything loose.

Thanks. I see others are living ith it, maybe I need to for a while before paying up the big labor bucks to re-fit the dash. Good sailing with those 19's. I am looking forward to installing the BAT suspension kit in the Spring.

Thanks. It appears that is the solution, the rattle is getting more frequent, so maybe the Dealer can hear it now. Thanks for the reply, these are great cars.
