I got a kenwood excelon x-689. I installed it and connected everything up buy my RCA's and remote wire for my amp....
It was working fine. Now when I connect the remote wire for the amp it causes the HU and the amp to click on and off... I disconnect the remote turn on and its fine. My amp was working fine before with my old HU... any ideas?

You could splice you remote to the ACC wire.
Well snow is coming!!!
Can't wait to do some snowboard...

I tried hooking it to the pwr ant wire, and it did the same thing.... the ant is working fine... I think its something with the amp or remote wire...

maybe the wire is stripped somewhere, maybe when you removed your old HU its got stuck somewhere.

r u sure your using the right remote turnon for the amp from the new hu harness? i believe the kenwood's wires are marked with written tabs. blue/whitestripe wire iirc.

I know with my amp, the connection wasn't tight at the amp, and the continual On/Off switching of the loose wire caused my HU to shut off even though the HU connection was good.
So re-check the connection at the amp. Also, if there's an indicator light on the amp. If the light stays on, the issue is the HU, if it's turning on and off, it's likely the wiring.

Yea its probably the wiring, but It doesn't make any sence because the wiring is the same as it was before when the amp was working...
Its been raining for like the past month so I haven't had a chance to pull the wiring yet.
its just wierd, when I connect the remote wire, the amp and the HU just sit there and click on and off...

Pulled the remote wire... looked fine so I hooked it back up and it's working fine now....
