The poster mentioned gear oil, Mobil synthetic ATF is mentioned in the thread.

New products just introduced by AMSOIL for manual transmission cars:

New Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 API GL-4 meets and exceeds the gear, bearing, synchromesh and seal demands found in automobiles and light trucks.

MTG is formulated with extreme pressure (EP) additives and advanced synchromesh qualities that provide smooth shifts while protecting gears, bearings and seals. It is not corrosive to yellow metals, such as copper, that are used in some synchromesh systems. MTG provides the maximum transmission and transaxle internal component protection.

AMSOIL Synthetic Manual Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (MTF)) is specifically designed for manual transmissions and transaxles with synchromesh systems that require light viscosity, non-extreme pressure fortified oil.
New AMSOIL Synthetic Synchromesh Transmission Fluid (MTF) 5W-30 meets and exceeds the gear, bearing, synchromesh and seal demands found in automobiles and light trucks.

AMSOIL MTF outperforms conventional oils and protects internal components at extreme temperatures from -40°F to 300°F. It controls the thinning effects of mechanical shear for stable viscosity and superior film strength, providing better anti-wear performance than conventional oils.

I saw these on the shelf at CTC. Anyone with any experience with these yet? Otherwise, I am just going to use the ford honey on my next change.

Use this at your own risk. It says its a 5w-30 oil....

The only fluid that is current spec for the MTX-75 is the Ford Honey. The only aftermarket product that meets the specs of Ford Honey is the Royal Purple SynchroMax product. You make the call.

Actually NOTHING is the same specs as the Ford Honey.

That was the entire argument basis against every other fluid but "Ford Honey" in that pathetic thread.

Then the hypocrits at the end turned 180 degrees and stated "WITH NO FORD ENGINEER GUESSING OUT THEIR PROVERBIAL ASS" {which is a specific requirement they stated to have any of your statements be valid ) that RP's Syncromax was a suitable alternative.

100% hypocritical bullsh~t spouted by blatantly short sighted people!

Well let me put it this way: RP SynchroMax is the only aftermarket product that claims to be a viable alternative to Ford Honey, meeting it's Ford-provided specification.

I like the way Redline MTL feels in my tranny. I did notice a slight difference in the way it felt, which made sense because I didn't know when the previous owner had changed the fluid last.
