So i was drivin down the interstate last night, just as i exit, i look down to see Oil and Battery lights on and my car is dead. i pull over and it starts right up, rev it a lil and it idles fine and i pull into a gas station 200 feet away. i check the oil and it said MAX and was clean. i looked under oil pan and saw black so i ran a paper towel over it and indeed there was oil there. i decided to take a chance and keep drivin, just watchin for any idiots lights to come back on. oh ya, the lights turned right off once i restarted it the first time. drove it for about 15 more miles with no weird noises or idle problems or lights or anything. any ideas as to where i can begin to figure out what happened??

the oil and battery light come on ANY time the car dies, and the key is still in the "run" position.

its just reporting what it sees.. a lack of charge and a lack of oil pressure.. (obvious because the car isn't running!)

So.. all you have to go on is:

a random stall

SOME oil on the pan.

could be completely unrelated, and likely are. Look for IAC, or vacuum problems causing stalling. the oil is, almost positively, the oilpan gasket. nothing I can think of to connect the two together, though.

maybe crapped Alternator and dieing battery combo? All kinds of lights went off on my dash when my battery was on the way out. Scared the crap out of me and I didn't drive it for a few days because I had no clue what was going on at the time.

negative on the alt..

would cause the battery light to illuminate while driving, which he did afterwards (to get home)..

possible causes would be vacuum leak, etc

water on the serp belt causing slipping (didn't mention wet weather)

gunked up IAC, etc.
or
some unforseen electrical gremlin that cut spark for some reason. (NOT likely)
