When i bought my car the previous owner already had a Baer track kit on it. Now, I need to order pads, but i'm not sure what kind i need. My car is in TX, and I'm in CA right now so I cant drive it into a shop and then have them deal with it. What info do i need to order pads and what type?? Is there a pad for all type of BAER applications?? I'm not sure the exact kit, but they're 13 inch front rotors, slotted, and cross drilled. Any help would be appreciated!!

I just got mine the other day, and in the brochure it says that most of the brake pads are available through your local parts store... Whatever that is supposed to mean.

That is because Baer runs the Mustang Cobra Caliper with their track kits. Not sure about which years would fit though.

I got my pads from the local Pep Boys, just told them the car was a 98 Ford SVT Cobra.

No kidding? Hmmm, that would kind of explain why the caliper does not cover the rotor completely on the 13" Track kit. If you look closely, there is about a quarter inch space left of rotor surface that the pads never touch...
What that rotor really needs is a 4 or 6 piston caliper...
Oh well, as long as they work I don't really care.

Any C4 Corvette pad will do. If you cross refenece the stocking code you will see that this pad has plenty of uses in the modern day muscle car.

FYI I can get those pads in either Bendix CT3 Ceramics or Bendix Titaniums.

They are the OEM calipers for all 94+ Cobras. I know they have other OEM applications but I'm not sure what. I would cross reference as many as possible and see who carries what the cheapest. As long as it is a decent pad, of course. Autozone has Performance Friction Zrated pads fairly cheap and they are lifetime guaranteed, even for just normal pad wear. There are several people on Corner-Carvers that have had their pads replaced free of charge that were simply worn out. They're a decent pad and I have no problems with them on my '98 Cobra. They are NOT a track pad however. All the Baer kits that use the PBR calipers come from Baer with PBR pads which are pretty outstanding actually. They are a good dual purpose pad (i.e. track and street) and that's what my girlfriend uses on her '98 Cobra that she uses as a daily driver and weekend track car. I think I only paid about $113 for the set when I ordered them directly from Baer. I'm undecided on whether I want to order the PBR's for my track kit or get the lifetime guaranteed ones. It's gonna be a tough call.

I don't think so. If you look clesely, it is the Caliper that is smaller than it needs to be to cover the rotor completely. I was dissappointed to see this to say the least. But what can you do...
