Hey any of you guys have a chance to make it to the auto show in Minneapolis, MN yet this year? I went on saturday and i was quite impressed.... beleive it or not Pontiac has a really nice looking lineup! I posted a bunch of pictures i took while i was there, they had the Ford Shelby Concept as well as the Fusion (which i heard is replacing the Taurus?) on display. I'd definately recommend going Car Show Pictures -Not exactly sure if that's legal?

I almost went to the Chicago Show. My dad went. I thought the fusion was taking the place of the contour. I went last year and was rather impressed.

Well if it were replacing the contour it would have had to been here in 2001.
Its pretty much the closest thing to the contour that Ford has right now. I think the 500/fusion combo was replacment for the Taurus as the 500 looks larger and the fusion slightly smaller. I could be wrong though.

To tell you the truth i heard that the Crown Vic was ---> 500 and the Taurus ---> Fusion That's what a guy in the Ford booth told me, who knows what he actually knows. All i know is i don't know what the cops are going to drive if the Crown Vic dies out, no cop wants to drive a FWD car. They drive too hard.

I guess its possible. Alot of PD's are using Impala's. However I would expect Ford to have a stronger, more powerful powertrain in the 500 if they were going to become police cruisers. They definitey are large enough.

I was there saturday. I thought it was very cool. I was definitly impressed with the new harley truck that was on display it was very nice. I think Dodge's new Ram Daytona was a joke. My friend had a dodge daytona car and it was a pile of junk I can't believe they'd name a pick up after that. But over all I had fun and it was sweet. -Denise

I agree last year blew. This year was a lot better. I wasnt impressed by the interiors of a lot of the new vehicles! Examples would be the Evo, WRX STI, Nissan Quest (i think its still called that?) the interior in that thing was just horrible!
Other than that I was impressed. The Sky and Aura were sweet! Also liked the Mazda6speed!

I went twice...
The Fusion is a true replacement for the Contour. It is essentially a newer version of the same product pointed at the same market... the entry-mid-size sedan. Unfortunately, it got beat by the ugly stick after the Milan and Zephyr left it alone.
I also felt the interiors on all too many cars suffer from complete idiocy and lacking necessities. Just too many cars where the use of a few brain cells would have made them better. Don't the designers actually try to use the cars?
I preferred the SKY over the Solstice, but the Aura did nothing for me, way too many busy conflicting shapes with an interior that resembled fecal matter in color.
