Hey,
I have a 98 SE with an SVT intake. I added wire to the stock IAT connector and inserted the sensor in the appropriate hole on the SVT accordian tube. I've been getting a CEL (PO171/PO174 - System too Lean)for some time now and am almost certain it's because there's unmetered air getting into the engine through the IAT hole. The stock IAT for the SE has two little lock connectors for the airbox and I'm wondering if I should snip them off so the sensor fits in the hole better. Does anyone know if the SVT IAT sensor is the same as the SE one (same ford stock number)? Could someone who owns an SVT take a close-up pic of their IAT and post it so I can compare mine to it? I appreciate all of your help! Thanks!!!

Hey,
can someone at least let me know if the SVT IAT sensor is different or the same as the non-SVT V6 sensors? I have got to get rid of this CEL before I get the car inspected, otherwise it will fail!
Thanks

Does anyone know the answer to my question? Does anyone know of any other trouble spots that could be causing the codes I listed in the original post?
Thanks

The IAT is not causing the codes and just needs to be in the intake air stream.

Lean codes are from unmetered air, dirty MAF, or low fuel pressure.
