I bought an OBD II interface from obddiagnostics.com for $80. Bought a cheap laptop off Ebay for $20. The software is a free download from the site. Just be careful when looking at laptops on Ebay. Be sure you get a harddrive and everything you need with it. I also got a power supply that runs off the cigarette lighter, replacement batteries are EXPENSIVE. I'd suggest sticking with an IBM Thinkpad unless you you are a laptop whiz.

I did some researching and have found several laces where you can buy an interface cable to hook it up between your car and laptop. But they are expensive, what about a schematic that showed how to build one with radioshack stuff. I can read a schematic, solder, and have built a few circuits that actaully worked so does anyone have a link to a schematic?

ATX MTX swap, rear drum disc swap, drilled rotors, ported intake, optim throttle body, CAI, 7.5L MAF, adj. fuel regulator, longtube headers, underdrive pulley, no EGR, low inpedence bigger injectors, 2002 Focus Swap

No it needs to be a 7 pin Ford connector.

just looking at the alex peper site again all the connectors they have are 16 pin

looks like it would work for me. Now all we need are pin outs and a schematic of the converter.
