hi all, i recently had my tranny rebuilt at the expense of the extended warrenty with no deductible that i had when i purchased the car. however, when the dealership returned my car, i found my coolant light to be on. i promptly went back to the service manager and asked him to take care of it for me. he returns with the coolant light off, and im a happy camper.

not the end of story... that was roughly a week ago that i got the car back. the coolant light is now ON again! so i was thinking to myself, for the first 6 months that ive had the car it never comes on, and i give it to the dealer for one week and it comes on the day i get it back... anyway, i checked the coolant reservoir today and found that the service manager had filled it with water only!! i was like WTF!? it wasn't even a mixture of coolant and water like the manuel had suggested...

now, this may sound pretty basic, but i want to do it the right way. the reservoir was filled with just H2O, should i just got get some antifreeze and just pour it in there wtih the water and try to get a mix? The manuel suggests a 50% water and coolant mix... what do you all do??

thanks!

first off calm down everything is ok, that little bit of water will not through the mixture off that much at most it would thought it off 5% AT MOST, so it is nothing to worry about, also if it keeps coming on check the common problems under FAQ's there is a fix in there

To answer your question, yes, the next few times you top it off, top if off with 100% coolant. No need to drain the water first unless you're from Alaska.
