I noticed that the SPmotorsports CAI specifies "non-SVT." Any with heatshield designed for "SVT's"?

the last heat shield i made for my svt(before i sold it)was made out of a plastic mailbox from home depot(nice thick plastic, and a nice black, grainy finish)
i took the maf off and cut a little off one end of the mailbox...set it under the hood upside down(round part at the bottom)and marked where to cut it,and made it the right size with my dremel tool...it turned out really nice, and fit better than anything i've used yet...really looks oem,imo looked better and is surely more effective than the k&n h/s...i mean the m/b was only $5 what do you have to lose, who knows you just might be happy with the results...

Anyone have the K&N CAI with heat shield on an SVT? I don't want to have a garbage can, mail box, etc. in my engine compartment( even if it works better).

This is the FIPK for Cougars that can be used on our cars.

Found at:

K&N Websight

It was made for the V6 Cougar and seems to be compatible with non-SVT V6 Contiques. I guess it's due to the IAT placement or the extra hose or whatever. You can read the instructions and figure it out for yourself if really curious.

I realize that with the heatshield could be less than ideal if hot air can still get around it. But generally I think it would look pretty nice as it's an entire assembly that can be dropped in (gotta use the stock MAF though).

For the British guy...
