hey guys have any of you noticed that our cars are getting some bad milage with the 10% ethonal blend in them. I've been getting only 280-290 miles before I need to refuelagain . I used to get between 310-320 miles before refueling.
Goss's Garage in Washington Post.
"Boston, Mass.: my car, an '04 Buick Regal, seems to be getting slightly lowered mileage in city driving since ethanol has been added to the gasoline -- the car has less than 30,000 on the clock and was getting 17-18 mpg in the worst kinds of urban driving and about 30 mpg on the highway -- is it possible that the ethanol has a negative effect on mileage?
Pat Goss: You gotta love this Ethanol mess. Ethanol in gasoline guarantees reduced fuel economy. 2 percent -- 15 percent depending on the vehicle."
You guys are only getting like 300 miles to a tank of gas? Dude i'm getting 400 before I refuel. I'm not doing anything special either. I live in Lowell, MA so Ii'm in a city as well. Hmmm... either i just have a nack for getting good milage or one of the slight mods to my Zetec is improving my milage by 1/3. Idk... all i can say is that i love my car getting 400 miles to the tank.
:-)
I got 321 miles per tank the other day, stock with a cut airbox and a post 98 intake setup. I run premium though.
Yeah I've noticed a big decrease too, I can't get more than 28mpg highway, used to be 35.
ahh i hate the pinging sounds like s*** exspecially when on it
Wow, some of this mileage makes me feel good about my V6 gas mileage. I'm getting 270-300 on a full tank ever since I tuned up the car.
Before I was only getting 200 average, and 230 if I really went empty, and did alot of highway miles.
maybe its just me but i get gas at the pioneer stations here in canada and they run up to 10 percent ethanol and I always get decent mileage. about 550 kilometers to the tank.
