About how long would it take to replace the front main seal on the 2.5? The wife's car is leaking and I was wandering of I should wait for the weekend to do this or if I could do it in an evening?

Thanks

Couple hours at most. You'll need a harmonic balancer puller, new seal and new harmonic balancer pulley bolt too.

Thanks! OK that's not bad I'll probably wait for the weekend to be sure. And I'll have to get a new crank pulley bolt from the dealer, I assume.

Thanks again,

Before you go through changing the seal, make sure it's not your power steering pump that is leaking. The pump sits right above the main seal and tends to leak at the hose. that fluid ends up down by the crank pulley and looks like a front seal leak. Also, the oil pan gasket commonly leaks in that area.

Thanks I will look at that.

I'm almost positive it's the seal. Burning semi-synthetic on hot exhaust has a very distinct odor. I don't leave large noticeible spots when parking and it only seems to have the problem affter is running and warm.
