Any guts there cats? I want new msds headers but i dont have the dough, at the moment, and since this seems to be the next option.. was wondering if anyone here has done it, and how hard it is.

$1100 for headers is just too much. i'd say gut the cats get a HiFlow y-pipe and resonator and you might get the same or better gains than the headers.
what are the best before and after numbers on the dyno with the MSDS headers only, 6-8 hp?

well does anyone cuz i'm having a serious check engine problem becuase my left pre cat is all clogged up.
Ford told me to get a new one for 600
But i was like um... nope oh yeah the install is like 800 also that's almost worth more than my car geezzzzz...
The people on the board told me i'll be fine just gut the cat in the future!!

if you need help gutting the cats let me know i'll never give up the opportunity to learn and work on a contour. There tons of people with gutted cats, ask around on the procedure.
I can imagine how much of PITA of a job it can be.

i plan on doing this within a month or 2 depending on my cash situations by then.

im just going to order the o2 simulators and take it to a shop and see if they can get rid of the y and run dual 2" to the back - 2 resonators and 2 mufflers out back... but depending on money i think ill just have then fab up a new y pipe and cut the cats...

we'll c

i was just looking at CTA motorsports 95 project car, they show some pictures of the precat. I can't even see how you can gut these things easily.

im thinking it will be easier to just bypass them and do dual or make a custom y pipe rather then keep the original

Do some old searches or look thru the "how to" section.
I have my old precats and Y pipe available as I have gone
to the MSDS headers.

Somewhere there is the details on how to do it....the re/re labour
is horrible though unless you can do it yourself.
