PFFT I'm not missing this one either. Unless I get up and move to the east coast or something in the next year I can just roll out of bed and go to each day's events. Grand Rapids babay

Your mustang will definately be slow on the road course; but it won't be the car's fault . . .

Don't worry MX, I'll make your car fast around the road course... Just don't let me back it into the parking space in the pits. I seem to have a problem with that.

more specifically: a Zetec with a couple turbonators (i think that's what they're called... the spiral things that go in the intake...), a resistor soldered into the IAT sensor to fool the engine into thinking it's performing much better than it is, 4 or 5 of those exhaust pipe spinner things, a turbo whistle in front of those inside the tail pipe, a BOV (even though you don't have a turbo, trust me, it sounds tight..), gold chains for spark plug wires (makes for a killer engine bay, too), vinyl all over the car, including custom graphics and pornography, windows tinted to 0% forcing you to drive with your head sticking out the sunroof - also making you the coolest guy in town, 12 inch steel wheels, each with a different spinning hubcap, triple bladed and chromed single windshield wiper mod, altezza tail light on the left and euro on the right (i forgot to say - black car), custom purple model-painted interior with model airplanes hanging from the ceiling, and top it off with an 8-track player.

i went a bit further with that than i had originally planned to, but i think that would actually make a hell of a car.
it'll have the looks, the speed and the- uh. the.

what?
Posted By: Klasse Act Re: Grand Rapids, MI for Spring Zing '07 - 05/22/06 10:41 PM
Those "50's diners" look cool, that will be alot of fun! I'd like to suggest a couple things for SZ07'...

1. Miss CEG competition...like Todd said, leave the wife and kids at home, unless your wife is in the comp

2. Non-CEG-ers for voting for CEG catagories, makes things alot easier and less "American Idol like"

3. I'm willing to donate my services for someone who had alot to do with putting together next years event, anyone else wanna join me here This is a way to thank someone for putting this all together for us Although you couldn't tell which side looked better, atleast someone gets their ride detailed for free!

4. Get the word out to the locals so they can bring their classics out to the event, this way we have even more "trolls" rides to look at

5. bring a microphone
Posted By: Trapps_dup1 Re: Grand Rapids, MI for Spring Zing '07 - 05/22/06 10:42 PM
Back surgery kept me from '04.
Death in the family kept me from '05.
All expenses paid killer fishing trip was too much to pass up in '06.

If I don't get invited on the IV next year, I'll be in GR.

Pix coming soon of some spectacular fish. Sadly (fortunately?) there was no 'baggin' on the boat...

Todd, I've saved your special picture and I'll be sure top post it in many places for you!

Looks like a good time was had by all and the bar it set very high. I'm looking forward to SZ07.
I'm there!
We were very excited to hear it'd be in the GR next year. Todda spilled the beans while we drove his drunken arse to the club.

Can't wait for 07!

I know 131 dragway is nicer and closer, but please tell me we can go up to thunderbird, aka "thunderchicken" to those from Muskegon.

I do believe they actually encourage shotgunning warm bush light cans of beer before each pass.

Couldn't agree with you more Dave and who knows, maybe I'll run the Crossfire again, gotta back up those 14.8's as I'm sure there was probably something wrong with the track I went to but wait, they drive the crap out of those cars to get those times and then theres your lack of driving skills and the fact that you've never driven a stick car down the track Oh wait, I'm sorry, that was me about 6 monthes ago, sorry Not crackin' you Dave, just the ones drinkin' the "Hater-Aid"

Did they tell you that? In an email I asked that question, and they said for your mods/speed you should be fine without.

-We need magazine coverage, like one of their guys at the event shooting pics

-Guest speaker, maybe Terry Haines again He's very entertaining, helpful and informative I'm not sure if it was stated anywhere in all the SZ threads, but he did help out one of the CEG-ers who broke their shift tower on the dyno and I'm sure he was busy! Just goes to show that he can let by gones be by gones!

Looks like a little SHO vs. Tour is shaping up for the road course. I sold my SHO so my buddy asked how it felt to drive a slower car. We'll see about that.
Posted By: Steeda. Re: Grand Rapids, MI for Spring Zing '07 - 05/25/06 01:56 PM
I will crush any non FI SHO on a Course. Especially a course where they can't exploite the better top end gearing like Gingerman
Posted By: todras_dup1 Re: Grand Rapids, MI for Spring Zing '07 - 05/25/06 02:03 PM
And he's talking about a Gen 2. A Gen 1 maybe will full suspension done.
Posted By: Steeda. Re: Grand Rapids, MI for Spring Zing '07 - 05/25/06 02:10 PM
Even then you go a Gen 1 Sho full suspension with what Tokico/koni's and Eibach/intrax with 22/26 sway bars and Good tires is still behind the curve of a CSVT with Koni and H&R/Eibach/GC's add a 3 liter into the mix and umm ya. I love SHO's but the CSVT will own one with a decent driver on a track like the ones we have in MI

we invite the Cougar people every single year.

They rarely show up. A lot of them save up their vacation time and money for Cougarfest, so it's understandable.

Suggestions:

1. Pre-entry into Show & Shine categories and have those entrants park together. Engine bay entrants in one group, paint entries in one group, SVT, non-SVT, FI, troll, etc.

2. More space between entrants (one parking spot for example) so that entrants have enough room to leave their doors open and have room for people to walk between cars. Plus better photos.

yupp!! I agree! I was parked next too Kevin, how lame was that
good ones Pete.
It'll take a little more work to organize that, but I think it would turn out pretty cool.
Since each person registers under a specific category, there will already be a headcount available before the show, therefore making it easier to rope off spaces and have people park appropriately.

How about an eating contest for some fun?

I heard food?!?!

Two time... two time... back to back finisher of the Pancake challenge at a pancake place in Roscommon, MI. Plus Western Omlette and side of hash browns both times.

Also finished the 49er Lumberjack in 43 min. 49er is a 49 oz steak with all the fixings. Too bad it wasn't free if completed.

So then we all pitch in an entrance fee, winner gets his meal paid for with the moolah!

Ooooo, good call..! I'd be up for it, or like a wing eating contest or something like that.
omg chang you are a professional eater!

and beer belly doesn't always have to be the biggest to be the winner.
Phil can do all sorts of weird stuff with his

You didn't know.

No, I wouldn't call it professional eater. I just enjoy good food in large quantities.

Steve generally orders by sides of the menu. "I'll take the left today please."

HA!!!!!!!!!!!!
We should pass that barbie award around each year like the Stanley cup.
I'm thinking queenb might win it in '07.

Are we tlaking about the doll or Kristen? BTW the white one was replaced by a more tan Barbie.

you forgot Mid Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, it's closer and better than thunderbird.

Not to mention if you organize right and get each site in on to cooperate, it would be easy to run Open track at Grattan, Drag in Stanton, and then do diner at Rosie's. All three are in the same region.

Although Martin (US 131 Dragway) and Gingerman (South Haven) are not much of a drive from each other either, and a drag morning, open track afternoon, would set everyone up for a great South Haven Beach Cruize Night. (There is also a great Paintball field (Hole In The Wall) 7 minutes out side of South Haven if people wanted to do something like that)

PS - maybe we'll have to rename that "award" as the Summer's Eve Barbie now.
So long as it's NOT on 5/21 next year, I think we're there.

Just need FAR advance notice.

If it were a choice, and if I needed a reason, this would be it.
